RPAI is an A2J membership scheme. Depending on the service required, members may be connected with appropriately qualified and authorized legal professionals.
What does A2J mean?
A2J (Access-to-Justice) simply refers to helping everyday people understand, exercise, and protect their legal rights and obtain appropriate legal remedies, regardless of their financial or social circumstances.
How do I access RPAI legal aid services as a member?
With RPAI membership, you're connected to legal support services depending on your legal situation. When you livechat, email or consult your local RPAI secretariat and explain your legal matter, you'll be connected to a lawyer to assist you.
How do I become a member?

How long does it take to activate a RPAI membership?
As soon as you sign up for a RPAI membership, you get access to legal consultation, advice, letters or calls made on your behalf, contract and document reviews; but court representation will be available only after 120 days where your membership becomes active.

How do I track the progress of my case?
RPAI will provide you with updates on the status of your matter, including important actions taken, referrals, appointments, documents required, and the next steps where applicable. For matters that have been referred to a public institution, RPAI will provide information available to it and, where appropriate, direct you to the relevant institution's case-tracking or inquiry process.
What can I do if I am dissatisfied with how a lawyer/firm is handling my case?
Contact RPAI member services for assistance and request a clear explanation of the status of your case, actions taken, outstanding matters, and the next steps or where appropriate, referral to another qualified legal professional or the relevant professional or regulatory body. If the concern involves professional misconduct by a lawyer, a formal complaint may be made to the appropriate disciplinary authority on your behalf.
